Our mission is to empower our community to embrace wellness, increase awareness of the dangers of youth substance use, and actively prevent and reduce the harmful effects. The coalition is a data-driven, highly active organization that will focus on implementing environmental strategies to impact the community, prevent and reduce substance mis(use) among our youth. We will accomplish this by providing outreach prevention programs such as but not limited to:
Educational presentation that teaches youth how the law relates to them and the consequences of breaking. See attached flyer for more information.
Social marketing and social norm campaign promotes the message that teens do not need to drink alcohol or use drugs to have a good time. We have purchased incentives from Friday Night Done Right™ | Prevention Campaigns that we can distribute at your church.
Educational display that offers adults an insight into what youth may be hiding in their rooms, and drug paraphernalia that is available in the community. This interactive exhibit displays a typical teenage bedroom or backpack.” This exhibit focuses on alcohol, tobacco, current trends in the abuse of other drugs such as cannabis, synthetic and "designer" drugs, opiates, cocaine, amphetamine-type stimulants, hallucinogens, and prescription drugs. Participants will learn about different types of paraphernalia available for the use, processing, and concealment of illicit drugs.
Community prevention effort with the primary goal of reducing youth social access to alcohol by raising awareness about social host liability and related misperceptions surrounding underage drinking.
Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October.
SADD empowers and mobilizes students and adult allies to engage in positive change through leadership and smart decision-making. We are trying to hire Advisors. See attached flyer and rack card for more information.
Promotes the message that most teens do not need to get artificially high to have a good time. In addition, it helps youth discover, amplify, and pursue their own natural highs i.e. sports, music, poetry so that they have a reason to say no to an artificial high.
